CHISOS MINING CO. MOTEL, TERLINGUA, TX.

A very cool motel! Once a thriving mercury mining community, Terlingua is now a quiet and isolated town on the edge of Big Bend that is home to a host of artists, musicians and hippy drop-out types.









Once the demand for mercury stopped after it was no longer needed for bomb making, the mine lost business. Not sure what mercury is needed for these days..... thermometers perhaps!?
