'THE CROSS AT GROOM'...Welcome to the Bible Belt!
Driving on the highway about 100 miles east of Amarillo, you cant possibly fail to see this landmark. A recent addition to the route 66, this 104ft cross was built in 2002. It is, not surprisingly, the worlds biggest cross (only in Texas!)

Surrounding the foot of the cross are bronze sculptures of the 12 'stations of the cross' portraying Jesus' journey to the crucifixtion....
